The National Commission on Higher Education (NCHE) is the statutory arm of the Liberian Government charged with the regulation and accreditation of higher education programs in the country. The NCHE was established by an Act of National Legislature in 1989 to regulate, manage, and monitor higher education activities in Liberia.
Achievements
Since we assumed office in September of 2021, we have achieved the following:
The National Commission on Higher Education has been recognized internationally;
We have established a relationship with the Ernest Bai Kromah University of Science and Technology in Makeni, Sierra Leone, to collaborate on credentials verification audits and synchronize curriculum in the West African sub-region. This collaboration took place at the offices of the NCHE on Wednesday, July 6, 2022;
Established relationship with TESTS/USAID which has resulted into the establishment of Early Childhood programs at eight selected tertiary institutions (colleges and universities). Secondly, TESTS/USAID has agreed to provide the NCHE with one vehicle, eight computers (laptops) and other accessories for offices. These items will be delivered in August 2022.
